Friday night at the Stanford Invitational, senior Courtney Frerichs ran a career best as well as earned a first place finish in the women's 3000-meter steeplechase with her final time of 9:49.06 minutes. Not only does this rank her first in the WAC by well over a minute, but also resets her previous record for UMKC's women's steeplechase. Over in Emporia, Kan. at the ESU Relays, there were 21 Kangaroos who finished in the top three of their event. The women's team placed first out of the fourteen teams with 181 points, while the men came in fourth out of twelve teams with a total of 91 points.
