Kansas City's Courtney Frerichs represented the ‘Roos most exceptionally as she finished 13th out of the 253 runners that competed at the women's NCAA Cross Country Championships on Saturday.

Saturday, Courtney Frerichs will make her final performance this season at the NCAA Cross Country Championships in the women's 6K race in Terre Haute, Ind. hosted by the Indiana Sycamores.

Frerichs, a former National Athlete of the Week, won her third straight race and fourth in five tries this fall. She won the region crown by nine seconds and was the only one in the field under 20 minutes in the 6k race.

(Peoria, Ill.) The UMKC cross country teams performed their best at the NCAA Midwest Regionals as the men placed 23rd (632 pts.) and the women coming in at 20th (533 pts.) out of the 35 teams that competed on Friday.

Friday, the UMKC cross country teams will head to Peoria, Ill. to compete at the NCAA Midwest Regional hosted by the Bradley Braves. At 12:00 p.m. the women's 6K race will kick-off the festivities, followed by the men's 10K at 1:00 p.m.

The Kansas City cross country teams finally had some pay off as they finished exceptionally at the WAC Championships, as both the men and the women placed third out of the eight teams that competed.
